Following her recent visit to Jamaica in summer of this year, Victoria Rowell, is poised to return to Kingston to spread joy at the Glen Hope Nursery and the Maxfield Park Children’s Home as well as to share her latest television movie to the wider Jamaican audience. The movie – “A Baby For Christmas” done in partnership with Swirl Films debuted on cable TV in the U.S., December 13th on UPLIFTING Entertainment Television.
Rowell who was last in Jamaica in October as a special guest for the OCEAN Style FashionShowcase Weekend, said this about the initiative “The holidays can be a joyous time but for many this is not so. I believe by repurposing the aspirational art form of cinema, much like a Graham family tradition, communities can enrich the lives of the least of us. As Nelson Mandela said, “It’s always impossible until it’s done.”
The screening will take place at the Vera Moody Concert Hall at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts on Saturday, December 19, 2015 beginning at 6:00 pm. The screening is free to the public and she asks that guests bring a donation of unwrapped toys or clothing for children between the ages of 0-16 years to be distributed to the Glen Hope Nursery and Maxfield Park Children’s Home.
