OCEAN STYLE AND POP UP GOURMET – A PERFECT PAIRING FOR A FOODIE PARADISE
October 7, 2014, Montego Bay – The Pop Up GOURMET CULINARY EXPERIENCE for OCEAN Style FashionShowcase 2014 is here! Its ability to select and showcase the best-of-the best of the Caribbean has made the OCEAN Style FashionShowcase Weekend a coveted annual experience for movers and shakers from the region. Thanks to Its recent partnership with innovative foodpreneur Pop-Up Gourmet; attendees can add foodie paradise to the long list of titles that the event has earned itself over the seven years of its staging.
Pop-Up Gourmet Jamaica’s pairing with OCEAN Style means that pleasing of palette will be given as much attention as other key elements of the three-day event. Its all white party Eyes Wide Shut party on Friday evening will feature the highly anticipated Pop-Up Food Court where local fare will be given pride of place.
For the occasion, three sought after Jamaican Chefs have been invited to showcase their talent – Collin Brown, JamChef’s George Matthews Chef and culinary artist extraordinaire Oji Jaja. They will be taking old favourites and presenting them in fresh and exciting ways that will delight even the most sophisticated. In addition, three of Montego Bay’s dining hot spots will also be tantalizing patrons with their dishes.
Much loved Mystic India will prove to patrons why it is remains the number one rated restaurant on Trip Advisor in Western Jamaica. The best barbeque joint in the West, Biggs will also be there along with Marguerites known for its sumptuous seafood dishes in an exquisite location ensconced right and on the seaside. Incidentally, all three locations partner with Pop-Up Gourmet on their recently launched Pop-Up Gourmet Advantage Card.
Much to the delight of the golfers, there will also be a Pop-Up Gourmet station featuring deliciously decadent bites by AA Rosette recipient Chef Collin Brown on the greens.
One lucky golfer will win a privately catered dinner for eight prepared by Executive Culinary Artist Oji Jaja.
To have secured the service of three independent chefs of such high calibre is no mean feat. After all, between the three of them they have prepared meals for an array of stars, diplomats and even royalty. The list includes: Prince Michael, Kelly Rowland, The Rockefeller Family, P Diddy, Angie Stone and Christina Milian.

Our objective for this staging is to show the world that Jamaican cuisine can stand head and shoulders with the best that the world has to offer. Some of the mouth-watering dishes on the menu include spicy pulled pork in lettuce rolls with red stripe bbq sauce, Sweet potato curry bites with yogurt mint and lime dip and the JamChef’s to-die-for barbeque oxtail.
