BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS (March 23, 2016) – Travel writers and journalists on the tourism beat in Barbados’ primary source markets are being invited to enter the island’s inaugural Barbados Tourism Media Awards – the jubilee edition. International media practitioners have until July 31 to enter.
BTMI CEO, William Griffith, confirmed that the awards would form an official part of the tourism entity’s calendar of events to mark Barbados’ 50th anniversary of independence.
“Without a doubt travelers are influenced by stories they see and hear about a destination. In acknowledgment of the positive impact this coverage can have on their decision to visit Barbados, we thought it fit to confer awards of excellence to our media partners.”
