Now Open: The Library Bar, The Rittenhouse Hotel’s New Artisan Cocktail Bar Just Off The Hotel’s Lobby

For those looking to enjoy a chic cocktail in an equally chic location, look no further than The Rittenhouse Hotel’s new Library Bar, a cool new addition to the hotel bar scene.

Here, check out an overview of what to expect when you visit the new Library Bar.

The Design

The space, located straight through the hotel’s Mary Cassatt Tea Room, was carved specifically for The Library Bar and the artisan cocktails that are set to inhabit it.

As the name states, the bar transports guests to their nearest library; think dark wood, herringbone-patterned oak floors, an etched-glass map of Philadelphia and a limestone fireplace. Cozy, right?

The Library Bar promises guests an extensive collection of books selected with the library theme in mind. In addition to a vast collection of books, fine art fills the walls of the bar. The intimate 20-seat bar promises fine libations in addition to a top-notch atmosphere.

The Drinks

The 17-page drink menu is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

The finest spirits live on the shelves behind the bar. Browse the selection of Hendrick’s gin, Patron tequila, Grey Goose vodka, Jameson whisky and more. In addition to top of the line spirits, cocktails also contain house-made mixers.

The bar’s signature drink, the RH, a new take on a whiskey sour featuring house-made figs and other tasty surprises.

Manhattan-lovers, sip the Perfect Square, the classic Manhattan cocktail with a fun twist — house-made bitters.

Craft brews are also available for guest’s enjoyment.

Beyond alcoholic beverages, coffee and infused tea round out the menu.

The Food

Jon Cichon, the executive chef of Lacroix, The Rittenhouse Hotel’s restaurant, curated a small plate menu which includes salads, sharable appetizers and desserts.

Bar bites include Ossetra caviar, fingerling potato chips and crème fraîche, foie gras verrine, black truffle and duck rillette and dark chocolate and caramel-orange mousse — the perfect end to your evening.

Looking for a perfect pairing? Cichon also created a wine-pairing menu, consisting of sweet and savory wines for the bites.
