Over 2.0 Lets You Apply Artwork Overlays To Your Photos And Then Some

The popular photo overlay app Over has just been updated to version 2.0.

Over 2.0 is easily the biggest update to come to the app as it brings plenty of new features and enhancements.

If you’ll recall, about three months ago, Over gained support for applying icon overlays, in addition to text overlays, to photos. Well, Over 2.0 takes that improvement a step further with its newly added support for applying artwork overlays.

“And not just any artwork,” says Over developer Potluck. “We spent the last few months collecting and creating some amazing and inspiring illustrations. This art is made with love and purpose for you to enjoy.”

In line with this, Over 2.0 also adds a new marketplace section that highlights font and artwork packs made by artists and brands. Some of these packs may be unlocked via in-app purchase, while some are free for you to use right out of the box.

And if you happen to have some font files lying around, you can now install them and use them right within Over. Just select a font file from anywhere on your iDevice, say, from your favorite mail app, and select Over among the available options to open it.

Over 2.0 also makes for more precise text editing with the new nudging, character spacing, and line spacing tools. As well, it makes for easier editing now that the photo picker shows bigger pictures and the edit menu gets out of your way when not needed.

Finally, the latest version of Over introduces the ability to upload your creations to Pinterest, as long as you have the Pinterest app installed on your device.

Over 2.0 is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $1.99 download. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
