Even though OPI and Essie are arguably the best nail polish companies in the world (A Roll in the Hague by OPI is everything for the summer), sometimes its good to shake it up and try some different brands that can offer colors and styles you may have never tried. And sometimes the best people to help you choose these new colors are fashion designers, who basically choose the most popular colors for the season anyhow.
Take for instance, Prabal Gurung, an American-based designer of Singaporean decent who recently partnered up with Sally Hansen nail polish. The spring collection was inspired by Nobuyashi Araki’s photographic series “Sensual Flower” which as been described as “beautifully subversive, layered and at further glance very representative of Araki’s work — nuanced with a feminist twist and perverse undertone.” This series allowed Gurung to create alongside Sally Hansen, a three-color collection including a sparkly purple called Loves-Me-Not, a violet crème called Purple Post and Barely Bluebell, a crispy mint. It is the perfect collection to wrap up nail trends with soft colors transitioning into summer.
You can purchase Prabal Guring for Sally Hansen at CVS stores for $7.99 each.
