Zimmer Confirmed for Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’, Has Started Writing Music

Zimmer is going Interstellar with Nolan. While we were fully expecting this collaboration to continue, it’s great to hear confirmation. Legendary German composer Hans Zimmer has been out chatting with press this weekend for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel (our interview will be posted in a few weeks), his latest score since Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises last summer. Our friends at Collider asked him about re-teaming with Christopher Nolan for his next sci-fi adventure, Interstellar, and Zimmer confirmed that is happening. In fact, he admits: “I wrote something… and I’m writing that. So, yes, we have started.” Already?! Excellent.

Nolan’s Interstellar is currently in pre-production now and is finalizing casting, with a release planned for November 7th, 2014 more than a year away. It’s interesting that Zimmer has already started writing some of the music, but as I learned in my interview with him, the sounds and score start coming to him as soon as he hears the story. ‘Doctor Who’ Star Karen Gillan to Play ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Villain

Amy Pond is making the leap to Marvel. Yep, that beautiful red-headed actress seen above is going to be playing a villain in Marvel Studio’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Director James Gunn has been hard at work casting the various ensemble alien superhero roles in the movie, lining up actors Lee Pace and Michael Rooker as villains already. Now THR is reporting that Karen Gillan, the 25-year-old actress who played Amy Pond on “Doctor Who” for the last few years, will “play the film’s lead female villain.” Now this is an interesting choice that should definitely intrigue fans of “Doctor Who” and Marvel.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, being directed by James Gunn, has a cast that currently includes Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer and Michael Rooker as Yondu, plus Lee Pace, Glenn Close and likely John C.
