The Saint Hotel Brand Expands to Florida

David Mark Wyant, Sr., owner and developer of the multi-award-winning The Saint Hotel New Orleans, has purchased the Southern Cross Hotel and will renovate and re-christen it as The Saint Hotel Key West. Located at 417 Eaton Street at Duval Street, the 37-room, 6-suite multi-building property is scheduled to open to the public in October 2014. Beginning September 1, reservations will be accepted at 305-294-3200, with room rates starting at $200 including a breakfast buffet for weekday, off peak times. Striking a balance between its storied past and located on bustling Duval Street near the harbor and just blocks from Mallory Square’s famed daily Key West Sunset Celebration, The Saint Hotel Key West will provide the ultimate luxury destination to enjoy the island’s renowned festivals and sport offerings, following its $22 million dollar purchase and transformation. The owners plan to infuse the property with its signature “Play Naughty, Sleep Saintly” atmosphere mixed with the laid-back lifestyle and Southern charm of Key West. “When I saw this property I knew it was a rare find, a perfect location for the eccentric and fun-loving spirit of The Saint Hotel brand,” said Mr. Wyant. “Key West represents the heartbeat of south Florida, with its own style, music and food. I promise you that The Saint Hotel Key West will offer a new, different and exciting hotel choice for the millions of leisure travelers who come to this beautiful island.” The main building, originally built in 1830s and then expanded in the 1890s, along with newer 20th century structure will reflect a chic, contemporary spirit and look while staying true to the designs and traditions of Key West. Designed by the Wyant family, each room’s interior will be sumptuous and full of stunningly beautiful details. The 2-story Saint Hotel Key West will include:  • 37 modern guest rooms featuring king and queen beds designed in The Saint’s signature cobalt blue and white color scheme accented with blue LED lighting, and white sheer drapes, blending perfectly with the azure waters offshore.         – Amenities for every room will feature: * luxurious beds fitted with high-thread Frette cotton linens with custom throws, ensuring guests sleep “Saintly” * bathrooms will be well-appointed with signature Niven Morgan bath products and The Saint-logoed plush robes * iHome sound systems allow guests to hook up iPods® and create their own soundtrack * a 46” LG digital TV * Krups coffee makers * a complimentary breakfast buffet in the lobby’s Pilar Bar        – 14 of the rooms are located within the historic building, with interiors including dark wood floors and wood-paneled walls, accented with white sheers.
